Butler Catholic School exists to help children grow in knowledge and practice of living out the Catholic faith. Daily instructions in the tenets of our faith are a priority. Weekly class celebration of the Eucharist is central to why we are here doing what we do. Participation in First Friday Masses, Reconciliation, Altar Servers, Stations of the Cross, and weekly Chapel Masses are all a part of school life for our students.
The formation of religious beliefs is fundamental to Catholic education. Although faith and values are integrated throughout the entire curriculum and school day, Butler Catholic students also engage in formal religious education classes. Religion classes reflect the Roman Catholic faith and are based on a curriculum established by the Diocese of Pittsburgh.
Prayer is one of the most important things a child can learn because prayer is the manner in which we communicate with God. Prayer is therefore an active part of each school day at Butler Catholic. All students are encouraged to develop a personal relationship with Jesus through prayer and spending quiet time in the presence of the Blessed Sacrament.
The mission of Butler Catholic School is the proclamation of the message of Jesus, and the formation of an extended family community of faith and service. The mission is directed both within the school and outward toward the service of others. We help our students realize this mission by providing them with developmentally appropriate opportunities to serve each other in school and in our community, and encouraging and supporting student-generated ideas for charity and service projects.
As a parish school, BCS is blessed to offer students access to the All Saints Parish Youth Programs.
