“I love when my students have fun while they are learning. My classes are student-centered, where each child can creatively express their thoughts and learn from others.”
Personal and Professional Background
I am an alumna of Butler Catholic School. I graduated cum laude from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education. In my sophomore year at IUP, I took part in a foreign exchange program and spent three months studying at the University of Greenwich in England. I am also an Ambassador of IUP.
I have taught at Butler Catholic School for 24 years. I love instilling the children with a passion for reading and writing. I have also enjoyed incorporating my love of foreign countries and cultures into the curriculum.
I was born in Butler to a family of teachers. My father, Fred Crawford, was a math teacher at the Butler Intermediate School and my mother, Georgina Crawford, was a second grade teacher at Butler Catholic School. I have been married to my husband Todd for 24 years, and we have two children; Shelby who is 20 and Wyatt who is 14. Our family attends All Saints Parish, and my favorite prayer is Guardian Angel, because I believe we all need someone to watch over us.
Outside of the classroom I enjoy spending as much time as I can with my family and friends. I also enjoy fishing, making crafts, reading, road trips, and going to car shows with my family.
What Do You Feel Makes Butler Catholic Special?
As a graduate of Butler Catholic School, I know the focus on faith is what makes BCS such a special school. Teachers and staff show the love of Christ while caring for each student. The support children receive from their parents allows each student to grow academically and reach their God-given academic potential.
I look forward to more students enrolling at Butler Catholic School and receiving an education that is rooted in faith, with a commitment to academic excellence.
