Changes at BCS Due to Coronavirus
UPDATE: MARCH 25, 2020
The following letter is from Mrs. Michelle Peduto, Director of Catholic Education for the Diocese of Pittsburgh:
March 24, 2020
Dear Catholic School Families,
Governor Wolfe announced yesterday that all schools will remain closed until at least April 6th. The Pennsylvania
Secretary of Education added the following clarifying statements on the Pennsylvania Department of Education
(PDE) website. According to PDE Administrators, faculty, and staff would return on April 7th and 8th to prepare for
the students to return on April 9th. The mission of our Catholic schools will not fit this schedule.
With Holy Thursday on April 9th and Good Friday on April 10th, the first day back for students would be April
14th if there are no further closure extensions by Governor Wolfe. Please know that our first priority is the
health and safety of our school communities, and our actions will continue to reflect this deep concern.
I will continue to provide updates as this unprecedented situation unfolds. My prayers are with all of you.
