Several major fundraisers are organized each year to benefit the educational needs of the students that attend Butler Catholic School. Those fundraisers include the Winter Wonderland Auction, the Purse Bash, our Healthy Living Day Walkathon, and the BCS Golf Outing.
Saints Suppers. NEW FOR 2020-2021. A monthly take-and-bake meals fundraiser for BCS! Each month, we have a different menu of meal items, including a main entree, sides, soup and a dessert. These are made fresh by volunteers in the St. Fidelis kitchen, and distributed at Butler Catholic School. Orders are due in advance, during a two-week order period preceding pickup day. The Great Pumpkin Roll. NEW FOR 2020-2021. On October 17, 2020, this family fun day at BCS will include food vendors, a basket raffle, and our main attraction: the pumpkin roll down East Locust St. Pumpkins, including those grown here in our own BCS School Garden, can be adopted by families for a nominal charge. Families are invited to decorate the pumpkins however they wish, and then load them in a dump truck which will drive to the top of East Locust Street where they all will be let go. They will then roll down East Locust to the intersection of Monroe Street. The first pumpkin to the finish line wins a prize! Winter Wonderland Auction. ON HIATUS FOR 2020-2021. The Winter Wonderland Auction is an annual auction held in November that benefits Butler Catholic School. Held at St. Michael’s Parish Hall, it is a beautiful evening of food, fun, and fellowship! Items are donated by generous BCS families and the surrounding community. There are live and silent auctions, specialty raffles and more!
Purse Bash. Purse Bash is a great ladies’ night out for our BCS families and community members. Numerous handbags are given away throughout the night to lucky attendees, and additional ones can be won through several raffles. Over 120 handbags were given away in 2020! Attendees are encouraged to bring their own snacks and beverages(BYOB), and a dessert bar is provided for all guests to enjoy throughout the evening. This is a fun adults-only night to celebrate with friends while raising funds to support BCS.
Trivia Night. ON HIATUS FOR FALL 2020. New to BCS in 2020, Trivia Night will be a fun night out for our BCS parents and community members. With eight rounds of trivia, as well as bonus round of “Listen To This” trivia, a basket raffle, a reverse raffle, fun side games and more, the night will be filled with enjoyment and WINNING! Attendees are encouraged to bring their own snacks and beverages(BYOB), and to decorate their table for a chance to win fun prizes for Best Table Theme. This is a fun adults-only night to celebrate with friends while raising funds to support BCS. Registration is available online at www.butlercatholic.org/trivia .
Healthy Living Day Walkathon. Held at the end of April, our day-long emphasis on Healthy Living: Mind, Body and Spirit is centered around an all-school walkathon. Parents and families are invited to join their BCS students at Highfield Park for an hour-long walk, and then enjoy a picnic style lunch back at the school. Families are asked to collect pledges for the walkathon, which are joined by sponsorship contributions to make this not only a great family day, but also a fundraiser for our students’ needs.
Golf Outing. The Butler Catholic School Benefit Golf Outing is a 4-person scramble tournament held at Lake Arthur Golf Course each spring. The day includes a picnic style lunch, refreshments, an evening pig roast and prizes awarded to the top three scramble teams. There are also a number of other fun competitions including individual hole competitions for men, women, and junior golfers such as closest to the pin, long drive, long putt, straightest drive; Hole-in-One prizes for each of the Par 3 holes; Honest John Team Competition; Hit the Green Contest and a Cash Putting Contest.
Additional Voluntary Fundraisers
There are a number of voluntary fundraisers that families and friends of Butler Catholic School can help with in order to support programs, events, and school purchases. There is no obligation for a school family to participate, however any help is greatly appreciated!
Recycle. Recycle used inkjet and laser printer cartridges. Place items in the box located in the school foyer. Also, please recycle your papers by putting them in the two large bins located in the school’s upper parking lot. Please do not place phone books, wrapping paper or cardboard in the recycling containers.
Box Tops for Education. Save Box Tops on items you purchase, and send them into the school office.
Campbell Soup Labels. Send you Campbell Soup labels into the office to help get free merchandise for BCS.
Giant Eagle Advantage Card/Apples for Students. Apples for the Students is a long-standing program of Giant Eagle that allows shoppers to register their Giant Eagle Advantage Cards® and help earn points for the school. With every scan of a registered card at the cash register, Butler Catholic School builds its point base. Points can be used for educational awards such as technology, and classroom supplies, as well as many other awards. The steps to register are:
