Butler Catholic School accepts and considers applications from all students. The following steps must be completed in order to be considered for admission to Butler Catholic School. Please contact the school office at 724-285-4276 with questions about the required elements detailed below.
The application is the first step in securing a spot at Butler Catholic School for your child. Applications are now being accepted for the 2022-2023 school year. Students applying to Kindergarten, Four-Year Old Preschool or Three-Year Old Preschool must be five, four, or three years of age respectively by September 1st of the incoming school year.
The following forms and items must be completed for your application to be processed:
- Signed Statement of Understanding (included in on-line application)
- Application Fee – $25. The $25 application fee is non-refundable, and will be applied to the $125 registration fee for K-8 families. A $50 registration fee for preschool only families. The fee is only charged once per family, regardless of the number of children applying.

Please mail or bring the completed items to Butler Catholic School, 515 East Locust Street, Butler, PA 16001. Please include your application along with the Signed Statement of Understanding (K-8 families only) and application fee – a check for $25 made out to Butler Catholic School.
Your application will be dated and time-stamped upon receipt with application fee. Applications will be processed in the order they are received. Registered members of our Butler Area Catholic Parishes will be given priority until April 1, 2022. After that time, applications will be processed in the order of receipt regardless of Parish membership or religious affiliation.
3. Family Registration Meeting
After submitting your application, you will receive a call from the school office to schedule a registration meeting with our Principal, Sister John Ann Mulhern. We ask that you complete and submit the BCS Enrollment Form at least 24 hours prior to your meeting time. At that meeting, your registration will be finalized. Final acceptance to Butler Catholic is contingent upon receipt of all required records.
You will need to bring:
- Copy of immunization records
- Copy of baptismal certificate
- Copy of birth certificate
- Parish envelope number (if Catholic)
- Custody agreement, if applicable
- Copies of any relevant academic, medical or behavioral paperwork (IEP, Title 1, Learning Support, etc) if applicable
- Check for $100, for the remainder of the non-refundable K-8 registration fee, or check for $10 for the remainder of the non-refundable preschool registration fee.
Once a grade level’s capacity is full, registration for that grade will close and any family trying to register for that grade will be added to a wait-list. The school office will contact you should a spot become available. It is Butler Catholic’s policy to not make the wait-list public. We are unable to comment on a family’s position on the wait list or likelihood of admission.
We encourage all interested families to participate in a tour of our school prior to the Family Meeting. Our tours are designed to provide parents with the best possible opportunity to experience our nurturing educational setting. The tour will serve as an introduction to our curriculum that is structured around challenging our students to use their gifts to their fullest potential.
Shadow visits are also encouraged for transferring students. This experience matches your child with a current student who shows them around Butler Catholic School during the course of a day. Transfer From Another School
A request for transfer of all records must be signed by the parents. The process is complete upon the receiving of school records. The placement of the student in the appropriate learning level is the school’s responsibility.
