Butler Catholic School Athletic Association held its annual Sports Banquet on Saturday, April 22nd to honor all BCS student athletes. The evening began with Mass celebrated by Father Farrell. The banquet continued as a celebration of how we, as Catholics, believe that God endows every person with gifts and talents, including athletic abilities. Shane Rine, President of the BCS Athletic Association, led all students and guests in the Butler Catholic School Athletic Association prayer, which reads, “True winners are those who make the most of what You (God) have given to each of them.”
There are many BCS students who have utilized the talents that God has given them in an extraordinary way, including superior sportsmanship, hard-work ethic, and all-around excellence. Coaches of each of the four BCS athletic teams; volleyball, cross country, basketball and soccer, recognized these students, one female and male athlete from each grade, with a special coaches award. The evening culminated with a presentation of awards to eighth graders from coaches of each team, and Principal Sister John Ann. Eighth graders awarded were: Caitlin Peratt and Disel Losch for Cross Country; Tia Andreassi and Camden Rockcastle for Fall Soccer; Tia Andreassi, Nicholas Maher, and Joey Orsborn for Basketball; Andrea Bean and Andrew VanFossen received the Pastoral Award. Congratulations to all our BCS student athletes!
