Living Stations of the Cross

Second grade students presented Living Stations of the Cross in the chapel during Holy Week.  Below are our students own prayers for each station. Please join our students in their beautiful prayers to Jesus and Mary, as we remember and meditate on the Passion of our Lord. Click here to view pictures from Living Stations.

Before each station, pray: “We adore You, O Christ, and we bless You, because by Your holy Cross You have redeemed the world.”

First Station: Jesus is Condemned to Death
Dear Jesus,
We are so sorry you were condemned to die. You must have been so sad. The soldiers were so mean to You. You must have felt like the people didn’t care about You. Amen

By: Delaney Adley, Kamryn Martin, and Kendall Stewart

Second Station: Jesus Takes Up His Cross
Dear Jesus,
I’m so sorry that the cross was so heavy. And I’m so sorry You had to die.  If I was there I would carry it for You. I’m sorry that You had to suffer for us. Amen.

By Leslie Best, Delaney Kelley, and Alexa Coyle

Third Station: Jesus Falls for the First Time
Dear Jesus,
It must have been hard carrying that heavy cross. You must have been in a lot of pain. If I was a Roman soldier I would have helped You, not hurt You. Amen.

By: Xavier Genci, Colten English, and Carter White

Fourth Station: Jesus Meets His Holy Mother
Dear Mary,
I’m sorry you have to see your son like this. It must be very hard to see Him carry that cross, but you know that He died for us. Amen.

By: Isla Leyland, Cameron Smith, and Jax Geibel

Fifth Station: Simon Helps Jesus to Carry His Cross
Dear Jesus,
The cross must have been heavy. It must have been better when Simon helped You carry the cross. It must feel bad to be so weak. Amen.

By: Luciana Sloboda, Sarah Burd, and Madison Krahe

Sixth Station: Veronica Wipes the Face of Jesus
Dear Jesus,
Veronica was brave to come up and wipe Your face. I want to be brave when I get hurt too.  If I was Veronica I would do the same thing. Amen.

By: Sofia Matonak, Kevin Fizer, and Ethan Radle

Seventh Station: Jesus Falls the Second Time
Dear Jesus,
The cross must have been very hard to carry for so long. The thorns must have hurt when You fell. We wish we were there to help You up. Amen.

By: Layden Painter and Winter Phillips

Eighth Station: Jesus Meets the Crying Women of Jerusalem
Dear Jesus,
You heard crying women. When You saw them You said, “Don’t be sad. I am always with you.” When I am sad I think of other people. Amen.

By: Anthony Isacco and Noah Simmons

Ninth Station: Jesus Falls the Third Time
Dear Jesus,
We are sorry that You fell the third time. I bet You are very sore and in pain. I bet it hurts a lot. Amen.

By: Leah Chau and Isabella Leroy

Tenth Station: The Soldiers Strip Jesus of His Clothes
Dear Jesus,
You would have been in so much pain when they tore Your clothes off. That was a big sacrifice for You. Amen.

By: Cameron Dorcy and Grace Lewis

Eleventh Station: Jesus is Nailed to the Cross
Dear Jesus,
It had to hurt really bad. Getting nails in Your feet and hands would be painful. Your disciples must be sad that You went through this. Amen.

By: Haley Norris and Bryson Stoops

Twelfth Station: Jesus Dies on the Cross
(Please Kneel)
Dear Jesus,
I’m sorry You had to die on the cross. I feel Your pain. I feel really bad. Thank You for dying on the cross. I will always thank You for saving us from sin. Amen.

By: Chloe Dorcy and Adelaide Livengood

Thirteenth Station: Jesus is Taken Down From the Cross
Dear Mary,
How sad you must have been. I would be sad too. Amen.

By: Hannah Lewis and Maddigan Smith

Fourteenth Station: Jesus is Placed in the Tomb
Dear Jesus,
It was sad to see You placed in the tomb. Your disciples will miss You. Amen.

By: Norah Kaiser and Grace Wolfrum
