8th Grade Honors Night

On Monday evening, June 5th, 8th grade students were recognized for their outstanding academic achievements at 8th Grade Honor Night.  Students then had the opportunity to present their parents with a letter about what their Catholic education has meant to them.  Below is a letter than one of our 8th graders wrote.  It sums up beautifully the true value of a Catholic education.  We are so thankful that our students not only appreciate the education they have received here, but can articulate that gratitude so eloquently.  God bless you BCS class of 2017!

“Dear Mom and Dad,

Thank you so much for allowing me to be able to go to a Catholic school and to get the amazing education that it offers.  This new environment has benefited me exponentially.  Compared to how I was before at public school, I have way more friends and much nicer teachers.  Thank you for pushing me that extra mile in making me join every sport team that BCS has to offer.  Each one had its own challenges and hardships I had to face in order to better myself.  But in the end, they were so worth it.  The education is stellar, and the class sizes are small.  Thank you for seeing that without a Catholic school I was lost, but with one I was complete.  You have helped me progress so far throughout my life.  Words can not accurately describe how grateful I am that you made the decision to allow me to go to BCS.

I don’t know where I would be right now if I hadn’t.  At this school, they value my opinion, strengthen my beliefs, show me right from wrong, and most importantly, respect for those of a higher authority.  As well as to never give up on your dreams.

Thank you so much for your generosity of time and attention over the last 365 days, and so forth, throughout my entire life.  With it, I have been able to intellectually prosper and develop my character.  I just want you to know that I would be nothing without you, and that I am forever in your debt.

Sincerely,
BCS 8th grader 2017”
