Letters to Parents

Dear Parents,
Many, many thanks for your super cooperation with the changes that the snow has brought. We've had six two-hour delays and six closures. Four of the "snow days," we've already made up. The remaining two days will be made up on June 7 and 8. We are not permitted to use March 31 or April 1 & 2 (Holy Days) as make-up days. Easter Monday is not an option either. Hopefully, the Farmer's Almanac prediction for March will not be true!
We are in the process of taking new registrations for Preschool and Kindergarten. lf there are siblings of our current students eligible for these early years of school, please call the office for an appointment. Remember if you "bring in" a new family to our school (for any grade), your registration fee is waived for the 2010-2011 school year.
And that leads to our next point. That would be renewal of registration. lt is time to begin budget preparations. lt is our hope that every current student in Preschool through seventh grade will be here next year. The more students we have, the smaller the increase in tuition. lt is important that you complete the attached form and return it to the Office by Friday, March 12, 2010. This information is necessary to make decisions for the 2010-2011 school year. Please adhere to the return date.
This will be the last Thursday packet you will receive as a hard copy. The reason is our copy machine is "dying." lt is an old machine*servicing us for more than 10 years - way over its "expected performance." We've been discussing this situation about the machine since the beginning of the year. Beginning next Thursday, March 11, you will need to go to our Butler Catholic website to get information that normally came home in the Thursday packets (i.e., school events, important dates, information, etc.). lf you do not have access to a computer, please notify the office for "hard copies" of information. Currently, our system cannot handle any "response needed" formats. lf there is something on the website that you need to complete and return to the Office, we are asking that you print out a copy and return it to the Office.
As part of the process of having the Thursday packet on the website and moving towards the future, we really need to upgrade our technology system. I'm looking for 100 people to donate $500 each so that we can do this. lf you know of someone (business, alumni, etc.) that could help, please ask him or her to make a donation. The instruction that our students receive here helps them in high school. Students have come back and said how grateful they are for what they did here at BCS not only in technology and academics, but how they complemented each other. So please, make some contacts, do some talking to "those who can." Check out www.butlercatholic.org.
As we look out the window and see the sun shining, may we be reminded of the Son's light in our lives. May our Provident God's loving arms surround each of you, holding you close to His heart. Thank you for being a very special part of BCS. God bless!
