Letters to Parents

Happy New Year!  May 2012 be the best year you’ve had so far.  Thank you for your kind remembrances this Christmas season.  All were greatly appreciated.

As we begin this new calendar year, following are a few things to review:

1. Thank you for your quick response to the Parent Alert Information Sheet.  We are in the process of importing that information to our new provider, OptionC.  Until we’re up and running, please listen to public announcements on radio and television.  We follow what Butler Area School District does.

2. There have been changes in the Department of Health’s requirements for school immunizations.  Enclosed in this packet are notices for those who need corrections.  Mrs. Bowser, our School Nurse, has gone through every student’s record.  Anyone not in compliance by the end of March must be excluded from school.  This is state law.  Please check with your pediatrician.

3. Just a reminder!  All student cell phones are to be turned in to the School Office upon arrival at school.  A form is to be on file in the Office.  Since there has been an increase of iPods appearing, these also are to be turned in to the Office upon arrival to school.  Please have an identifying tag on them.  These “gadgets” are not needed in the educational process and keeping them in their backpacks and lockers is a temptation we want to avoid.  We would prefer the students do not bring them at all but do understand and recognize that kids like to “listen to music” on the bus.  Please remind your students to comply.  It is part of policy.

4. The Athletic Association is having their Annual February Lottery Ticket sale.  Tickets for a chance on the evening daily number throughout the month of February are $10.  That’s 29 chances to win at least $50.  Tickets are available in the School Office.  Your “favorite” number may not be available but you might find another lucky number.

5. Our Open House for prospective families will be on Sunday, January 29, from 1:30—3:00 PM.  More information will be coming.  Just a reminder!  If you invite a family to come to Open House and that family registers to attend school here (PreK—Grade 8), your renewal of Registration Fee of $100 is waived.
