“When I am teaching in the classroom, I like the students to be actively engaged in the lesson that I am teaching on a daily basis. Through this philosophy, students are able to take what they learned in the classroom to real-life situations. If students can remember what I have taught them in real-life, I feel confident that they will be successful!”
Personal and Professional Background
This is my fourth year at Butler Catholic School, and currently, I teach fifth through eighth grade Faith Development. I also teach Kindergarten, first and second grade Spanish, as well as seventh grade Math. Before teaching at BCS, I worked in the area of Special Education as an Instructional Aide in Life Skills Support Classes.
I graduated Summa Cum Laude from-California University of PA- Presidential Scholar. I earned my degree in Elementary & Special Education with an additional degree in Middle School English/Language Arts.
I am not originally from Butler, but have moved here from North Huntingdon, PA. I am the youngest in my immediate family, and I have one older brother. At my home parish in my hometown, I am a volunteer Music Minister where I play the flute in the parish choir.
My favorite prayer is the Morning Offering Prayer. I like this prayer because it gives me a chance to give my whole day completely to God; no matter what good or bad happens. This prayer reminds me to trust God each day, and that his plans are the best!
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy running outside, and spending time with my family back in my home town of North Huntingdon when I have a chance to visit.
What Do You Feel Makes Butler Catholic Special?
What I like best about BCS is the ability to work with the students to learn about our Catholic Faith, and to share about growing in a relationship with Jesus each and every day!
