“Every child has the potential to bring something special and unique to the world. Educators need to help children find the tools and confidence to reach that potential.”
Personal and Professional Background
I have been teaching at Butler Catholic for ten years. I spent the first three years teaching the three and four-year old preschool classes, and I am in my seventh year of teaching second grade. I am an alumna of Butler Catholic School and Butler High School. I earned my Bachelor’s Degree with a dual major in Mathematics and Elementary Education at Carlow University, and my Master’s Degree in Child Care and Child Development from the School of Social Work at the University of Pittsburgh.
I began my teaching career as a preschool teacher at St. Wendelin School and then went on to teach second grade for four years at St. Mary’s School. I took a break from teaching to raise my five children. As a full-time mom, I spent time volunteering at various activities; Girl Scouts, PTG, and Vacation Bible School.
My children currently attend Butler Catholic School and St. Joseph’s Catholic High School, and I am firm believer in the value of a Catholic education.
What Do You Feel Makes Butler Catholic Special?
