Elective Programs
Students in grades seventh and eighth participate in a course of
electives. These classes are extensions of the curriculum and
are graded. They are semester long classes that students choose.

Robotics – The students work together to build robots with legos using the guidelines provided by Carnegie Mellon University. They write software programs and learn to problem solve. They have two competitions – one in the winter and one in the spring.

Stock Market – Students learn about how the stock market works. They buy and sell stocks to make a profit and compete against other area schools.

Performing Choir – Students perform at our school events and with the BCS Band. They also travel to perform at nursing homes and other locally sponsored events.

Tech Team – Students study technical issues that exist in today's world. Affectionately termed "The Geek Squad" – they monitor and troubleshoot the school's computers and work with digital photography at school events.

Forensics – This involves public speaking of prepared readings in six areas of literature.

Newspaper – The students cover school news and current events concerning the school. The paper is published quarterly.
