Sister John AnnDear Parents,

As we get ready to move into “cooler weather,” following are just a few points about school clothing.  Our uniform supplier is Rose Uniform Company.  All girls’ skorts, skirts/kilts, and jumpers are to be purchased from them.  Boys’ walking shorts are to be purchased from them also.  The shirts (white, light blue, and red for both girls and boys) are to be tucked in.  Girls and boys in Grades 5-8 only have the option of banded bottom shirts in white and navy.  Beginning on November 1, Butler Catholic Spirit Wear, that is sweatshirts or hoodies, may be worn over their shirts.  They may be told to put them in their lockers during the day if the classrooms become too warm for them.

Two events are coming up.  The first is the Halloween Party on October 31.  Students may wear their costumes to school. Their characters are to be historical, religious, or fictional and they are to know three facts about it.  During class time, masks and “big shoes” will be kept in their lockers and then put on for the party.  No costume may have anything that can be construed as a weapon—gun, knife, ax, hatchet, etc.  The PTG supplies the snack and the homeroom parents take care of the games.  There is no need to send in food, candy, etc.

Parent/Teacher Conferences will be held by appointment on Monday, November 12.  This is a “no school day” for students.  Conferences will be 15 minutes and with the homeroom teacher for Grades K-4 and a designated teacher in Grades 5-8.  Conference times are from 8:15—11:30 AM and 5:30—8:30 PM.  If you would like or need a certain time frame, please indicate that on the form below.  If there is an absolute need to see a specific teacher, indicate that and the teacher will respond to you.  Please complete the form and return it to school by Monday, October 22.

Many, many thanks for your cooperation.  The first “Big Fundraiser” is just around the corner.  We’re hoping to reach a $25,000 profit from the Winter Wonderland.  If we all work together, it can happen.  We have more books of tickets for the $1,000 Giant Eagle Shopping Spree and the $500 Sheetz Gas Card.  There are 150 school families.  Imagine the funds if everyone sold just two books of tickets!!!

Some baskets have already come in for the Chinese Auction.  Keep up the good work.  Our goal is to have 200 baskets—together we can make it!!  Will you be a vital part of making it a reality?!!

As the leaves change color, may we be ever mindful of the tremendous love our Provident God has for each one of us.  May you always feel His loving embrace as we see the beauty of His creation.  Enjoy these fall days of cooling color!  God bless!

Gratefully,

Sister John Ann
