Sister John AnnDear Parents,

Perhaps the best way to inform you of what I need to say is in the “list format.”

  • Tomorrow is the feast of the Immaculate Conception, a Holy Day.  Mass will be at 1:15 PM in the Auditorium.  At 7:00 PM our Performing Choir will sing at the Crèche in Pittsburgh.  Our bus will leave here at 5:30 PM and return at 8:30 PM.  We have a few seats left at $5 per person.  If you are interested in going, just call the office.
  • DRESS CODE – ALL STUDENTS
  • Shirts/blouses
    • Golf-style, oxford style or turtlenecks
    • Colors:  white, red, and light blue
    • Must be tucked in slacks/skirts
  • Navy blue trousers/slacks
  • Solid navy blue sweaters
  • Butler Catholic sweatshirts or hoodies (November 1-April 15)
  • K-4 Girls -- *Navy skorts, *navy blue/plaid skirts & jumpers, *navy walking shorts
  • 5-8 Girls -- *Navy skorts, *navy/blue plaid skirts & kilts
  • K-8 Boys – *Navy walking shorts
  • 5-8 Girls/Boys -- *White/navy banded bottom shirt

*MUST BE PURCHASED FROM ROSE UNIFORM COMPANY!

  • Please identify all clothing, lunch boxes, sweatshirts, and uniforms with child/ren’s name or initials on the inside tag.
  • Have the children keep a sweater or Butler Catholic sweatshirt in their locker in case they tend to get chilly.  Due to the size of the building, some rooms tend to be warmer or cooler than others.  Students can always take off a sweater or sweatshirt.
  • At lunchtime, we like to take the children outside to play as much as possible.  This is always governed by the weather conditions.  Please dress the children to go outside – warm coat, hat, and gloves.
  • I know that phone calls have been made concerning outside play.  Unless there is a doctor’s note saying that a child’s health is in jeopardy by going outside, children will go out.  Fresh air helps keep children healthy.  We always check the weather conditions before they go out.
  • Please remember to call the School Office at 724-285-4276 by 8:15 AM if your child/ren will not be attending school for the day.  A written excuse is required upon his/her return to school.
  • With the approach of colder weather, please remember to listen to WBUT, WISR, KDKA, WPXI, or WTAE for any delays or cancellations.  We follow Butler Area School District’s delay or cancellation schedule.
  • Children are to be in their homeroom when the 7:55 AM tardy bell rings.  Anyone who is not, is TARDY even if they’re walking in the front door.  If the bus is late, it is indicated as such on their attendance sheet.
  • The Student Council is sponsoring “Donuts With Santa” on Saturday, December 16, for children ages 2 through second grade.  Please check the enclosed flyer for more details.

Thank you for your cooperation and continued support of Butler Catholic School.  Spread the word
about our school.  Let’s aim to have two rooms of every grade with 20 students in a room.  Together we can do it!

May this season of Advent be filled with many blessings and graces from our Provident God.  May these days be restful and stress-free.  God bless.

Gratefully,

Sister John Ann
