September 17, 2003
Dear Parents,
This
note is to inform you of two "actions" that will occur
shortly here at school. It seems that the bees have been very active
and aggressive everywhere this year. We've had a few children stung.
Because of the seriousness of the possibilities of allergic reactions
to bee stings, we've had the area inspected by two reputable "pest
control" companies. Their conclusions were the same-we are
going to have the gym area and the perimeter of the building "dusted."
This will take place tomorrow, Thursday, September 18, AFTER SCHOOL
HOURS. Because of this being done, ALL GYM ACTIVITIES ARE CANCELLED
FOR THURSDAY BEGINNING AT 2:30 PM. We were assured that when the
children return to school on Friday, there is no "danger"
to them.
On Friday, September 26 (rain date is October 3),
the area behind the school building will be sprayed. This is part
of the ordinary upkeep. This area used to be an "overgrown
wooded area" and last June it was cleared out and re-seeded.
The spraying will take place after school hours on Friday, September
26. The children do not play or go near this area.
In another vein, we need some help to transport "no
longer useable computers and parts" to Cranberry on Saturday,
September 27. If you can help, please call the office. We have about
100 pieces to transport to this "electronic pick-up" site.
Thank you in advance for your help.
God bless!
Gratefully,
Sister John Ann
