Arrival:
Children’s arrival
time is between 8:50- 9:00AM-use the BCS upper parking lot.
After 9:00, students are to report to the main office.
Assessments:
A checklist of skills will be discussed during Parent-
Teacher conferences in November and again in May.
Birthdays/Star Student of the Week:
Each child will be celebrated as Star Student of the Week
sometime during the school year. Birthday treats may be
brought in if desired. Prior to your child’s special week, a
paper explaining it will be sent home.
Backpack:
Please have your child bring in a regular sized backpack
that can fit a simple snack and regular size folder.
Bathroom:
Children are
expected to use the bathroom independently. We go as a
class and individually throughout the day.
Clothing/ Change of Clothes:
Please have your child come to school in clothes that are
comfortable and easy for them to take on and off when using
the bathroom. Also, send in a change of clothes in Ziploc
bag with their name marked on the bag. This change of
clothes will be kept all year in case of an accident or
emergency.
Christmas Pageant:
This is scheduled during December in the
BCS auditorium.
More information about this program will be sent home later
in the fall.
Discipline:
The children are guided and encouraged to take
responsibility when dealing with conflicts. A positive
discipline approach is used, as well as the Golden Rule~
treat others as you want to be treated.
Dismissal:
The children will be dismissed from 11:20-11:30 @ the same
door they are dropped off at. Please send in a note if there
are any changes with who is picking your child up.
Folder:
Please send in a folder for your child marked with their
name on it.
This folder is to be checked and emptied daily.
Illness:
Please call the
school office (724) 285-4276 if your child will be absent.
For your child’s health, and to protect the spread of any
illness, a child with an elevated temperature, bad cold,
unexplained rash and or upset stomach should be kept home.
Newsletter:
A monthly newsletter will be sent home to inform you of the
months activities.
Pictures:
Please send in a few individual pictures of your child to
hang in their individual special space in the classroom.
Also, school pictures will be taken in the fall, more
information will be sent home closer to the date.
Prayers:
We will learn simple prayers that we say together each day:
Morning Offering, Blessing
Before Meals, and
Prayer before dismissal for the day.
Room Parents/Volunteers:
In your family packet there will be a sign up sheet if you
are interested in helping with class parties and /or
fundraisers.
Santa Workshop Early Childhood Fundraiser:
This is the BCS
Preschool’s main fundraiser and will occur in December. Help
is needed preparing the craft supply bags, running the
stations the day of the Workshop, setting up beforehand and
cleaning up afterwards. All preschool parents are asked to
help in some capacity.
Schedule:
a daily schedule will be given to you.
Snack:
This is to be something simple, preferably healthy and a
small drink, packed in a lunch bag or box.
Supply List:
a supply list will be sent home
Wish List:
We are always looking for craft items for projects. If you
can help by sending something in, that would be great.
